Over the last couple of weeks the children in Foundation have been busy practicing their scissor skills, cutting shapes to make rockets and used different types of brushes to make different effects as they painted firework pictures, adding generous amounts of glitter to make them sparkle. The children also had great fun flicking white paint onto black sugar paper, to make an effective ‘night sky’ background for their firework pictures. The pictures were used to make a wonderful display in the corner of the classroom with a colourful rocket, suspended from the ceiling, adding the finishing touch.
As part of Remembrance week, photos were taken of the children holding a poppy and these have been made in to what I am sure you will agree, is a stunning display to mark the importance of Remembrance Day and all it stands for. Poppies were also used as part of their maths lesson and they all went for a walk up to the War Memorial, where they were able to look at some of the slates which the KS2 children had painted.
Good job Foundation!
