Kirmington St Helena’s School & First Steps Nursery

Welcome

We are a small Church of England Primary School, set in the beautiful rural village of Kirmington and are federated with St. Barnabas Church of England Primary school which is set in the nearby town of Barnetby-le-Wold.

As a church school our faith is important and we follow the Christian values in all we do: the way that we treat each other, the way that we look for opportunities to help those in need and the practical application of our values. We believe that everyone has a part to play as a responsible member of not only our learning environment but in our local community and wider society.

Our website is filled with exciting work, amazing photos and wonderful information about our incredible school.

Our school has achieved a range of awards for a variety of purposes. Currently we hold our second Basic Skills Quality Mark, in recognition of the quality of our education and learning; the Sainsbury Sports Award Gold; and the Investors in People Gold Award for supporting all areas of the school community.

Although we are very proud of this national recognition we have not become complacent and are always working towards improvement. We cannot do this alone. We believe you, as parents and carers, have a very important role to play and we actively encourage close co-operation between home and school. We value and build on the experience and knowledge that children bring from home, and share with you the responsibility for ensuring that your child enjoys the very best primary education; an education that provides firm foundations on which to build success in the future.

By working together we can make sure this happens.

We were delighted to receive the first pictures from our foreign correspondents, Lucia, Julian and Bella. They have now settled into their new home and have started their new school and daddy has also started his new job. Their new home looks wonderful, although it seems they haven’t escaped from the rain entirely and how wonderful that their new school appears to have fish
